Ballet Folklorico and Natural History
Danza de Los Pájaros is family-friendly program celebrating the vibrant traditions of Mexican ballet folklórico while exploring the fascinating world of birds and local ecosystems. Participants will learn foundational dance techniques—including footwork, skirt movement, and rhythm—from instructors with Ballet Folklórico Sol de San Antonio, then connect the dance’s cultural themes to local birds and nature through interactive activities led by Mitchell Lake Audubon Center educators. This immersive experience brings together culture, storytelling, dance, and environmental education while inspiring appreciation for both cultural traditions and our natural spaces.
Open to ages 7+
Participant should wear athletic or comfortable clothing and shoes for movement. Please bring a re-usable water bottle.
Dance skirts will be loaned to participants.
