Join LO NM & Audubon Southwest for a guided bird watching hike at the Randall Davey Center and Wildlife Sanctuary.

Summary:

Join LO NM and Audubon Southwest for a guided bird watching walk and hike! We’ll begin in the indoor classroom space with a short introduction to local bird species, what to look and listen for, and some tips for using binoculars. Then we’ll head outside for a leisurely walk, pausing along the way to spot birds and enjoy the surrounding landscape.

We’ll cover approximately 1.5 miles or less, moving at a relaxed pace with plenty of stops for bird watching. This is a family-friendly, all-ages event, and no birding experience is needed.

Please note that the trail is unpaved and uneven, with some gradual elevation gain. Strollers are not recommended, and the route may be challenging for very young children who are not comfortable walking independently on uneven terrain.

After the guided portion of the event, attendees are welcome to stay and continue exploring the center, including the nature play area for kids.
