Join us at Herrmann York Winery for a presentation on agroecology, sustainable winemaking, and the history of wine in the IE.

21 + only!

No wine will be consumed during the event. Following the end of the event, you are more than welcome to sample/purchase wine, continue enjoying pizza/refreshments, and continue schmoozing.

“What does the Mexican Revolution have to do with winemaking in the IE? “

“What’s with all the vineyards I see on highways such as the 210 and the 15?”

“How can I learn more about wine and see more Latinos in the industry/space?”

Join LO IE and the team at Herrmann York Wine as we embark on a presentation into agroecology, sustainable winemaking, how climate change is affecting the industry, the history of winemaking in the IE, etc. Enjoy pizza and take in the rustic vibes of a working winery – right in the heart of the IE.

What to bring:

  • As the majority of this event will take place inside a winery, bring what makes you feel comfortable during a 1 – 1.5 hour presentation.
  • If you have vinyls, feel free to bring one as they have a working vintage turntable system.
  • Your curiosity

What will be provided:

  • Pizza
  • Refreshments
  • Vibes

What will we do/see:

Participants will get to meet the only successfully crowdfunded winery and it’s team, ask questions, tour a working winery, and learn about sustainable winemaking, how the industry is changing, what working with winemakers in the IE entails, etc. You will learn/see the process of how grapes are harvested and wine is bottled. Take in expansive views of dozens of barrels being aged, see a 100+ year old winepress, learn about wine labeling, and meet new people from across the IE.
