IMPORTANT: Each participant over 18 years old should reserve a spot with their own name and email, in which they will receive a waiver to fill out.

Join us on this beatiful hike near Dillon Reservoir!

Date: Sunday, July 19

Time: 9am meet up time, estimated end time ~11:30am

Location: Dillon, Colorado

All ages and people are welcome as long as they are aware of the hike description and are prepared!

If you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible by replying the Eventbrite email so that we can release spots to those on the waitlist. Spots are limited!

Distance: 3.2 miles roundtrip

Elevation Gain: 472ft

Max Elevation: 9276ft

Difficulty Level: Easy (fairly level terrain)

Facilities: No water or bathroom at trailhead.

Terrain: Most of the trail is unshaded but not many steep parts and relatively even.

Parking: Easy to park near this trail. Carpooling from Denver will be offered. Volunteers are not allowed to drive minors under 18 years old, even with parent present.

Weather: The weather is about 15-20 degrees colder than the Denver metro area and storms are rare in the morning. We will send more detailed information closer to the day of.

What to Bring

  • Backpack
  • Water (1 liter minimum recommended per adult)
  • Rain jacket
  • Sunscreen SPF 30+
  • Chapstick or lip balm with sunscreen
  • Snacks (optional – we will have paletas on the trail)

How to Dress for Hiking Comfort/Protection from the Elements

  • Non-cotton shirt
  • Non-cotton and non-jean pants or shorts
  • Sturdy athletic shoes or hiking boots
  • Wool or synthetic socks if possible (no cotton)
  • Sun hat (baseball cap, hat with wide brim, visor, etc.) and/or sunglasses

Is there a cost for this event?

This is a free opportunity to gather with community and there are no fees or permits to access this trail or the shuttle.

Due to limited capacity and funding, we are not able to provide consistent multilingual, Spanish-language programming, or other Native languages.
