Come celebrate Pride Month with paletas during our hike! ~Orgullosamente Outdoors~

IMPORTANT: Each participant over 18 years old should reserve a spot with their own name and email, in which they will receive a waiver to fill out.

Join us on this beatiful hike to an alpine lake!

Date: Sunday, June 14

Time: 10:30am meet up time, estimated end time ~2pm

Location: Nederland, Colorado

All ages and people are welcome as long as they are aware of the hike description and are prepared!

If you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible by cancelling by replying the Eventbrite email so that we can release spots to those on the waitlist. Spots are limited!

Distance: 5 miles roundtrip

Elevation Gain: 833ft

Max Elevation: 9830ft

Difficulty Level: Moderate (Moderate trails often feature gradual climbs or obstacles like rocks or roots.)

Facilities: Portapotties at the beginning of trail. There is no cell service on this trail. We will have a Garmin In-Reach Mini in case of an emergency.

Terrain: Overall, the trail will be partly shaded and follows a stream. There are parts of steep incline on this trail. We will go at the pace of the slowest member of our group to make sure that our group stays together at an even pace. The trail is very rocky, including at the beginning where we will have to step on large pond rocks.

Parking: We will get picked up by a shuttle a few miles away from the trail with plenty of parking. More details in the email before the hike.

Carpooling from Denver will be offered.

Weather: The weather is about 20-30 degrees colder than the Denver metro area and is prone to unexpected passing storms, including rain and thunderstorms. We will send more detailed information closer to the day of.

What to Bring

  • Backpack
  • Water (2 liters minimum recommended. Option to filter water if you bring a water filter)
  • Rain jacket
  • Sunscreen SPF 30+
  • Chapstick or lip balm with sunscreen
  • Lunch (we will stop for luch at the lake)

How to Dress for Hiking Comfort/Protection from the Elements

  • Non-cotton shirt
  • Non-cotton and non-jean pants or shorts
  • Sturdy athletic shoes or hiking boots
  • Wool or synthetic socks if possible (no cotton)
  • Sun hat (baseball cap, hat with wide brim, visor, etc.) and/or sunglasses

Is there a cost for this event?

This is a free opportunity to gather with community and there are no fees or permits to access this trail or the shuttle.
