Join Latino Outdoors Central Coast as we hike the Pecho Coast Trail, a docent guided 3.75 roundtrip hike to Point San Luis. This beautiful trail has unobstructed vistas of the central coast coastline, including Avila beach and on a clear day, the Guadalupe dunes. The docents will provide information on the local biology, geology and history of the Avila Beach area. The Pecho Coast Trail is moderately strenuous with uneven terrain, steep cliffs and grades, narrow trails, and crumbling earth. The hike culminates at the Pt. San Luis Lighthouse where you can relax and enjoy the views.
Meet at the Fisherman’s Memorial located between the Port San Luis Harbor Parking Lot and Diablo Canyon Power Plant entrance at 8:30 am. The trail head is accessed via Avila Beach and parking is available at the Port San Luis Harbor parking lot, located at the base of the pier. Click Here for Driving Directions . Please allow extra travel time for traffic and parking conditions. Children must be at least nine years old to participate, no pets.
Preparation: Carry plenty of water, food, hat, sunscreen. Sturdy hiking shoes are required. Optional: The cost to enter the Port San Luis Lighthouse is $10.
Waiver: All registrants must sign the Latino Outdoors waiver. Upon confirmation of your registrations, participants will also sign the PG&E waiver.
Únese a Latino Outdoors Central Coast en una caminata por el Sendero Costero de Pecho, una excursión guiada de 3.75 millas (ida y vuelta) hasta Point San Luis. Se accede al inicio del sendero por la playa de Avila y hay estacionamiento disponible en el estacionamiento del Puerto de San Luis, ubicado al pie del muelle.
