Big City Mountaineers is looking for two Regional Program Managers to support and lead outdoor programming in the Birmingham and Denver areas.

We partner with youth and community organizations to create outdoor experiences that foster social emotional health and wellness, environmental stewardship, and youth development. This role plays a key part in making those programs happen, working alongside partners, instructors, and volunteers to deliver thoughtful, well-run programs.

✨ What we’re looking for:

• Experience leading or supporting outdoor programs (especially with youth)
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage logistics, details, and multiple priorities
• Comfort working both independently and as part of a remote team
• Ability to build relationships across diverse communities and stakeholders
• Experience with risk management and outdoor safety practices (WFR and White Water Rescue or similar preferred)
• Confidence communicating clearly and navigating challenges in dynamic environments
• A collaborative mindset and willingness to both give and receive feedback

• Coordinate and lead regional outdoor programs (day trips, overnights, expeditions) – hiking, camping, backpacking, canoeing, and kayaking.
• Build and maintain relationships with youth agency partners and local community members
• Hire, train, and support instructors and volunteers
• Oversee logistics, operations, and program safety
• Manage details behind the scenes—from gear to schedules to data systems

💼 Details:

Full-time, exempt
Starting salary: $59,000
34 days PTO + benefits
Start date: Denver Position – ASAP, Birmingham Position – June 18, 2026
