The Tijuana River Valley: People, Wildlife, and Waters Thrive Together
An Overnight Celebration of Food, Arts, Film, Stewardship, and Community
Join Latino Outdoors, GreenLatinos, Sierra Club and community partners to connect, recharge, and explore the beautiful Tijuana River Valley Campground. For this special overnight experience, we will be staying in the campground’s cozy yurts!
This campout is all about celebrating our connection to nature and each other through delicious food, arts, film, and hands-on conservation.
- Cost: FREE! (Extremely limited capacity—registration is mandatory)
- Meals: Dinner and breakfast provided!
Schedule of Activities:
- Saturday (Evening Program): We’ll kick things off with a community cookout, followed by an outdoor film screening and engaging educational programming led by local Park Rangers around the campfire.
- Sunday (Day Program): After breakfast, we will head out on a group hike to explore the scenic Tijuana River Valley trail system, and spend a little time giving back to the land by pulling invasive plants to help the native habitat thrive.
What to Bring:
(A detailed packing list will be sent to registered participants, but plan for:)
- Sleeping bag/blankets, and pillow for the yurts.
- Comfortable clothes, warm layers for the evening, and hiking shoes.
- Reusable water bottle and sun protection.
🚨 Important Note about the Series
This event is part of our special collaborative series: “The Tijuana River Valley: People, Wildlife, and Waters Thrive Together” led by Latino Outdoors and various community partners.
- Separate Registration Required: Because yurt space is strictly limited, you must register for this event individually. If you are attending the morning nature walk or the afternoon Lunch & Learn, please ensure you grab a separate ticket for those as well!

El Valle del Río Tijuana: Comunidad, Vida Silvestre y Aguas Prosperan Juntos
Una celebración nocturna de comida, arte, cine, conservación y comunidad
¡Únete a Latino Outdoors San Diego, GreenLatinos, Sierra Club y a nuestros aliados comunitarios para conectar, recargar energías y explorar el hermoso Tijuana River Valley Campground! Para esta experiencia nocturna tan especial, ¡nos hospedaremos en las acogedoras yurts (yurtas) del campamento!
Este campamento tiene como objetivo celebrar nuestra conexión con la naturaleza y entre nosotros a través de una deliciosa comida, arte, cine y actividades prácticas de conservación.
Costo: ¡GRATIS! (Cupos estrictamente limitados—el registro es obligatorio)
Comidas: ¡Se proporcionará cena y desayuno!
Cronograma de Actividades:
- Sábado (Programa Vespertino/Nocturno): Comenzaremos con una parrillada comunitaria, seguida de la proyección de una película al aire libre y una interesante programación educativa liderada por los Guardaparques locales alrededor de la fogata.
- Domingo (Programa Diurno): Después del desayuno, realizaremos una caminata grupal para explorar el sistema de senderos del Valle del Río Tijuana y dedicaremos un breve tiempo a cuidar la tierra retirando algunas plantas invasoras para ayudar al hábitat nativo.
Qué Traer:
(Se enviará una lista detallada de equipaje a los participantes registrados, pero ve preparando lo siguiente:)
- Saco de dormir (sleeping bag)/cobijas, y almohada para las yurts.
- Ropa cómoda, ropa abrigadora en capas para la noche y calzado para caminata.
- Botella de agua reutilizable y protección solar.

Este evento es la tercera parte de nuestra serie especial colaborativa: “El Valle del Río Tijuana: Comunidad, Vida Silvestre y Aguas Prosperan Juntos”, liderada por Latino Outdoors y diversos aliados comunitarios.
- Se requiere registro por separado: Debido a que el espacio en las yurts es muy limitado, debe registrarse en este evento de manera individual. Si también va a asistir a la caminata por la naturaleza en la mañana o al almuerzo educativo de la tarde, ¡asegúrese de adquirir su boleto correspondiente para cada sesión!
