Have you ever wondered how to tell native bumble bees apart from the non-native bees? Or why they are important to our ecosystem? We’ll learn all this and more from Xerces Society bumble bee expert, Leif Richardson, during this outing. You can expect to take a short walk around Hedgerow Farms (a local native plant farm), learn collection and research techniques for bumble bees, and have an up-close look at our native pollinator friends. Coffee and a light lunch will be provided. Please come prepared with walking shoes, sun protection (sunglasses, hats, sunscreen), and plenty of water.
We will meet at 9am sharp at the parking lot. If you have trouble finding us, please call or text 916-622-4880.

¿Alguna vez te has preguntado cómo diferenciar a los abejorros nativos de los no nativos? ¿O por qué son importantes para nuestro ecosistema? Aprenderemos todo esto y más del experto en abejorros de la Sociedad Xerces, Leif Richardson, durante esta excursión.
