9:50am:

9:50am:

We’ll start the day on a familiar habitat, on land. A scientist will help us learn more about the history and interesting animals that take residence in her marine invertebrate collection. You may ask her questions, examine specimens under the microscope, or draw them in our notebooks. For this activity, we will have a smaller group and the minimum age is 15. (4600 Rickenbacker Causeway)

11:10am:

After the tour, we’ll go to the beach and learn about a current study on biodiversity near the shore. We will walk in shallow water along the beach with a net to view and identify which animals we encounter. There are several pauses, and it is perfectly okay to stay in one spot instead of walking, if you prefer. Once again, you have the opportunity to draw what you find in our notebooks or your own. For this actuvuty, the minimum age is 7. (Hobie Beach)

Particiants under 18 years old should be accompanied by an adult relative.

Difficulty of the activities: Easy

Attending is free. We invite you to sign up for one or both activities. We hope to see you soon and enjoy a beautiful day learning more about our wonderful planet!
