Join LO IE and Naturalist 4 You as we embark on a spooky-themed sunset hike!

Join Latino Outdoors Inland Empire and Barefoot Joel from Naturalist 4 You on a spooky-themed sunset hike at Tin Mine Canyon Trail. Participants will learn about the haunted history of the area, participate in some light foraging, and learn about ethnobotany. The hike is rated easy-moderate and is appropriate for most individuals age 16 and up. The route is about 2.5 miles long out and back. As there is an element of horror, if that is not your vibe, this may not be the outing for you. Additionally, if foraging/ethnobotany isn’t your vibe, this may not be the outing for you.

You must complete this waiver for you and each participant you bring. As connection is spotty, please fill out the waiver prior to arriving. No one who has not completed the waiver will be permitted to participate.

Where/when to meet:
We will meet at the entrance of the trail to Tin Mine Canyon promptly at 7 PM on 8/23/26.
Where to park:
You can park anywhere parking is permitted along Skyline Dr. Do not park in the neighborhood, as you may be ticketed/towed without possessing the necessary permits. Parking can be limited depending on how busy the trail is, so it is extremely important to arrive early.
What to bring:
- Sunscreen
- Plenty of water
- Snacks (if necessary)
- A good attitude
What will we do/see?
Participants will hike a shortened/less well-trodden version of the popular hiking trail about 2.5 miles out and back. You will learn about the haunted history of the area as well as the history of mining in Corona, participate in some light foraging of plants such as wild cherries, learn about ethobotany, and see a variety of animals/insects such as tarantulas.
