Latino Outdoors NYC | INTEREST FORM-Hunter Mtn Fire Tower & Gondola Ride

This is an INTEREST FORM and does not guarantee you a spot on the trip. We will notify you of your trip status on Fri 7/24.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Our next Catskills Fire Tower challenge is sure to be a treat! In partnership with Camp Uwani and Merrell, we’re providing roundtrip transportation to/from Hunter Mountain to summit the sixth and highest fire tower in our series!

The Hunter Mountain Fire Tower has the unique distinction of being located at the highest elevation of any fire tower in New York State – on the summit of Hunter Mountain at 4,040 feet!

We could hike from the very base to the top but we really wanted to go up in style so we’re also providing roundtrip gondola rides from the base of the mountain to summit–cutting our 7-miles hike down to 4-miles and offering unparalleled views of the region! (On a clear day, you can see beyond NY’s mountain peaks and into the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts and the Green Mountains of Vermont!)

REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE

  • 3 years or older, with a minimum heigh of 36 inches.
  • Must ride the gondola ride roundtrip
  • Feel confident/comfortable with the distance and elevation at a 30-minute pace or faster. We ask all interested participants to please be mindful of the elevation and pace before registering for this trip–both orgs continue to offer more community walks & hikes for everyone to enjoy.
