ABOUT
Join us for a group paddle & park stroll at Downtown Boathouse at Pier 26!

Downtown Boathouse offers sit-on-top kayaks for public use in the protected Hudson River embayment on the west side of Manhattan. Their free kayaking program includes all the gear needed to get out on the water safely, and provides an opportunity for New Yorkers to enjoy and learn more about the water! No previous kayaking experience is necessary, but you must know how to swim–guides will give you basic paddling instructions, help you select and adjust your life vest, and assist you getting in and out of a kayak safely from the floating dock. We’ll be jumping in on a group session during their ongoing free, public programming!

Afterwards, we’ll take a short and leisurely stroll along the Battery Park City Esplanade and back up through Rockerfeller Park to return back to the Pier.

All ages and abilities are welcome! Children 12 or younger share a double kayak with an adult; anyone 13 – 18 years old can paddle alone in a single kayak with a parent/guardian present on land. Adaptive paddling equipment is also available!

RSVP is free and required to join our group paddling session. Duplicate/incomplete RSVPs will be returned automatically.

WAIVERS

In order to participate it is required to review and sign the following waivers. We will provide paper copies at the start of the event.
