For those who identify as part of the LGBTQIA2S community, join us for a PRIDE picnic and craft session at Marsha P. Johnson State Park!

OVERVIEW

For those who identify as part of the LGBTQIA2S community, join us for a PRIDE picnic and craft session at Marsha P. Johnson State Park! Bring your snacks and your hiking boots/sneakers for a shoelace charm-making session! We’ll have some light bites and all the crafting materials needed to enjoy a gorgeous evening outside. And, we can’t forget to take some stunning waterfront pics as the sun sets over the East River! We’re coming together to celebrate, spend some time together, and simply be!

All ages are welcome and RSVP is required. Duplicate/incomplete RSVPs will be returned automatically.

PACKING LIST

  • Your hiking boots/sneakers that you’d like to add charms to!
  • Sun block, hat, sun glasses
  • Picnic blanket/chair
  • Dinner (Especially if you have allergies/dietary restrictions. We’ll be providing some light snacks and seltzers.)
  • Snacks (Optional, feel free to bring your own or something to share with the group! We’ll be providing some light snackies)
  • Extra beads, charms, materials to add to the crafting (Optional, we’ll be providing beads, paracords, scissors)
  • Public bathrooms are available


ITINERARY

  • 6:30PM – Meet-up, enjoy snacks
  • 6:45PM – Introductions
  • 7PM – Crafting and hanging out
  • 8:20PM – Take pictures by the water as the sun sets!
  • 8:30PM – Event ends

Latino Outdoors NYC | Pride & Juneteenth Beach Meet-Up

Celebrate PRIDE and Juneteenth with Latino Outdoors at The People’s Beach at Jacob Riis Park!

OVERVIEW

Celebrate PRIDE and Juneteenth with us at The People’s Beach at Jacob Riis Park, a Gateway National Recreation Area! Pack your sun screen and your fav book on joy/liberation! We’ll chat about community power and what you’re reading while enjoying a breakfast of fruit and rainbow bagels by community member, Kevin Pugh! Enjoy some downtime together as well as a sand sculpture building contest, spikeball, and all the lovely beach vibes the day has to offer.

There’s a $20 parking lot available nearby and the beach is also accessible by the Q35 and QM16 buses as well.

All ages are welcome–bring the fam! RSVP required for those who’d like to enjoy some free grub! DUPLICATE/INCOMPLETE RSVPS WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY RETURNED.

Join us at the Los Amigos Community Garden for a mediation session with Tia Colon followed by a collage-making activity!

Join Latino Outdoors NYC for a meditation session led by Tia Colon (IG: @tia_miyo) at Los Amigos Community Garden in East Harlem. Then, we will create collages together (materials and snacks will be provided). We encourage you to bring personal items, stickers, pictures, cloths, sketches, etc. to share and/or personalize your creation!
