Join us for a day of Culture at the Peabody Museum!| ¡Acompáñenos a disfrutar de un día de cultura en el Museo Peabody!

Join Latino Outdoors Connecticut on March 28th at 1PM for ¡Taíno Vive!, an enriching exhibition on the Taíno Culture at the Yale Peabody Museum. The Taínos are indigenous peoples of the northern Caribbean islands (Puerto Rico, Haiti, Jamaica). The exhibition is bilingual, in English and Spanish.

We’ll begin the day by sharing empanadas at Sabor Sajoma, a local Caribbean restaurant, before walking together to the Peabody Museum, and we’ll end the day outside in the Cretaceous Garden.

Families and children are encouraged to participate to learn about the endurance and courage of the Taínos.

Accessibility information: We will be walking over paved streets in New Haven, and the museum has multiple wheelchair-accessible entrances and elevators.

Things to keep in mind:

  • This event is both indoors and outdoors, please dress accordingly.
  • There are restrooms at the museum.
  • No dogs are allowed in the museum.
  • This event is free, and RSVP is required for each attendee.

Ven con Latino Outdoors Connecticut el 28 de Marzo a la 1:00PM para ¡Taíno Vive!, una enriquecedora exposición sobre la cultura Taína en el Museo Peabody de Yale. Los Taínos son pueblos indígenas de las islas del norte del Caribe (Puerto Rico, Haití, Jamaica). La exposición es bilingüe, en inglés y español.

Comenzaremos el día compartiendo empanadas en Sabor Sajoma, un restaurante Caribeño local, antes de caminar juntos hacia el Museo Peabody. Finalizaremos el dia al aire libre, en el Jardín Cretácico.

Se invita a participar a familias y niños para aprender sobre la resiliencia y la valentía del pueblo Taíno.

Información de accesibilidad: Caminaremos por calles pavimentadas en New Haven; el museo cuenta con múltiples entradas y ascensores accesibles para sillas de ruedas.

Aspectos a tener en cuenta:

  • Este evento se llevará a cabo tanto en interiores como al aire libre; por favor, vístase de manera adecuada.
  • Hay baños disponibles en el museo.
