Join Latino Outdoors, POST, and host Elizabeth Jiménez Montelongo for a special poetry-writing event!

Join Latino Outdoors, Peninsula Open Space Trust, and Elizabeth Jiménez Montelongo for a special poetry-writing event!

“Migraciones Across Borders” is an opportunity for writers of all levels to gather as a community and write poetry together. We will reflect on wildlife, migrations, and borders. Writing prompts and sample verses will be provided for inspiration. Participants will be invited to read poetry written during the event.

Please note: This event will be led in English with prompts provided in both English and Spanish. Multi-lingual expression is welcome. The workshop will not be recorded nor streamed, and we are limiting capacity in order to provide a safe space and welcoming environment.

The perspectives in this event are intended to be centered around Latinx experiences, and we are also welcoming those of other cultural backgrounds and identities to participate and reflect on the themes presented.

“Migraciones Across Borders” is part of Palabras & Poetry: A Community Poetry-Writing Event Series by Elizabeth Jiménez Montelongo. This event is done in collaboration with Latino Outdoors, POST, and Elizabeth Jiménez Montelongo (Creative Ambassador of the San José Office of Cultural Affairs). This event is supported, in part, by a grant from the City of San José, Creative Ambassador Program, San José Office of Cultural Affairs.
