Difficulty of hike

It is rated as moderate – hard and lasts about 2 hours round-trip. It is approximately 2.5 miles with 387 ft of elevation gain. This does not include the ~ 0.5-mile hike from the entrance of the park to the start of the trail, which also features a fair bit of elevation gain. There are multiple spots with very steep elevation gain on the trail itself. The trail runs through narrow switchbacks. Participants should be fine with heights, as we will ascend some fairly high hills. This is an outing for more experienced/fit hikers due to the terrain. Strollers are not recommended. Children should have experience with hiking moderate-difficult trails; otherwise, this may not be the outing for them. Good footwear such as hiking boots, trekking poles, walking sticks, etc, is highly recommended. To read more about this trail, go to AllTrails:

Parking

There’s plenty of street parking outside the park. You can also choose to park inside, but you would have to pay the parking fees. On weekends, the parking situation can be crowded, so arrive early to ensure you can get a spot. If you park inside the park, please meet us at the Bane Canyon Trail entrance.

Restrooms

There are restrooms at the park, but not during the hike. Please get there with enough time to go to the restroom before we get on the trail.
