Duties As a Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties: Performs carpentry related jobs, building and repairing existing structures, including historic structures, construction of new structures, and interior finish work where appearance is an essential consideration. Repairs and replaces wood and cement shingle, composition and metal roofs, sheetrock, paneling, studs, plywood, hangers, doors, windows, walls, ceilings, siding, flooring and finish work. Performs a variety of maintenance tasks, including constructing forms, framing, constructing cabinets, and interior finish work. Performs electrical tasks involving making repairs that can be accomplished by removing, replacing, tightening, splicing, and insulating defective wiring and fixtures. Utilizes hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, strippers, drills and soldering irons. Performs other assigned tasks such as other building maintenance (minor plumbing, and minor heating and cooling systems, cleaning), grounds maintenance, loading and unloading trucks by hand and by forklift, and operation of trucks to transport needed equipment, supplies and materials to project sites.
