Duties

You will perform Maintenance Worker (Trails) duties at a high level of competency, often taking on the most complicated phases of project work assigned to the crew to include:

  • Occasionally leading lower graded workers, volunteers, and Interns in carpentry, masonry, rigging, and motor vehicle trail maintenance related operations
  • Transport tools, materials, employees, vehicles, and equipment with a variety of vehicles weighing under 26,000 GVW to job sites and trailheads
  • Operate and maintain a variety of track type and rubber wheeled gasoline and diesel equipment such as front-end loaders, rollers, tractors with auxiliary attachments, utility terrain vehicles (UTV’s), forklifts, dump trucks, mowers, mini excavators, and other types of equipment associated with support of Trail Maintenance related tasks.
  • Intermittently leading and teaching lower graded employees, trails interns, volunteers and youth crews in all aspects of trail maintenance activities.
  • A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected. The display of a salary range on this vacancy shall not be construed as granting an entitlement to a higher rate of pay.
