POSITION SUMMARY:

Climate Solutions seeks a systems implementer as our new Data Systems Associate. This role supports data quality, data hygiene, governance and staff use of our technology. To be successful in this role, you must be detail-oriented, a good listener, and eager to learn. Knowledge of Salesforce, SharePoint, and work management tools such as Asana is required. The person in this role needs to be experienced with adopting new technical platforms and responding to multiple ongoing projects in a hybrid office environment. The Data Systems Associate will be required to apply a racial and data equity lens to support data-informed decision-making throughout Climate Solutions.

This position is part-time and non-exempt, working 20 hours per week on average with more hours available during high volume times. The schedule is flexible, with the option to work remotely in Oregon State or from the Climate Solutions office in Portland, Oregon. The role is supervised by the Director of Technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Import and manually update contact, transaction, and engagement data into a CRM database and other related platforms.
  • Conduct ongoing data maintenance tasks according to schedule and as needed, such as addressing duplicate data and monitoring data hygiene to ensure that data standards are adhered to throughout the organization.
  • Help implement cross-departmental projects to ensure ongoing staff adoption of technological tools at Climate Solutions, including Salesforce, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Asana.
  • Assist in administrative management of digital systems, including password management, license management, and tracking expenses as needed.
  • Prepare and analyze data through a racial and data equity lens in collaboration with other staff at Climate Solutions.
  • Perform duties required of all staff to support smooth internal operations, such as submitting timely expense reports, reimbursement requests, and timesheets.
  • Incorporate Climate Solutions’ Equity, Diversity and Inclusion commitments, Commitment to Leading our Work with a Racial Equity Lens, and Climate Solutions’ values into all aspects of the job.
  • Follow our Technology policy and IT security best practices to keep data safe and secure, and support staff in doing the same.
  • Participate in Climate Solutions staff meetings, trainings, racial equity conversations, and team meetings.
  • Travel 4-5 times per year to Portland, Oregon, Seattle Washington, and other locations as needed.

DEMONSTRATED COMPETENCIES

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Adept with technology and able to quickly learn new systems & processes.
  • Attentive to detail, specifically with regards to data, systems and processes, instructions & documentation.
  • Excellence in explaining technical concepts to people without specialized or technical knowledge and adapting training materials to different learning styles.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and organize information, work independently and use good judgment, especially in a remote environment.
  • Experienced with applying an intersectional framework to workplace dynamics, including gender, economic, and racial justice.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Windows and Office Software, CRM databases, and work management tools such as Asana. Must be able to communicate effectively via computer, via phone, and in person.
  • Committed to the mission and vision of Climate Solutions and to confronting institutional racism and inequity within our systems.

Experience:

  • One to Two years of experience working on data entry projects that utilize Salesforce or similar CRM database.
  • Working with large, complex datasets at nonprofit or political organizations and analyzing data through a data equity lens.
  • Collaborating asynchronously on several concurrent projects in a remote work environment while being responsive to incoming requests.
  • Communicating technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Acting as a power user or in a support/administrator role at a company that uses Salesforce or another similar CRM system.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion as an organizational practice.
  • Assessing the accessibility of technical systems and materials.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position is part time with a flexible work schedule to be approved by the supervisor. Occasional work on evenings and weekends and at off-site locations may be required to support fundraising events and participate in Staff retreats.
  • This position offers a hybrid remote office environment, and work must be performed in Oregon State with occasional, paid travel to Washington State to support fundraising events and to participate in staff retreats.
  • This position utilizes online communications including email, video conferencing, and other online tools used to facilitate virtual office culture and work sharing.
  • This position requires frequent sitting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.

REMUNERATION

This position is offered at an hourly rate of $33.65, firm.
