Position Purpose

To develop and lead the progressive curricula for the Staff Training Enrichment Program in order to enhance the leadership, behavior management, peer relationship and communication, as well as facilitation skills of the participants towards becoming future camp personnel.  

To perform administrative functions such as coordinating with special guests as well as assist the Camp Director in the management of special events like staff appreciation, farm staff appreciation, memorials, and any such events that are outside of the regular roster of camp events.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Previous experience in administrative roles at a summer camp a plus
• Experience in the development and delivery of leadership programs and activities for a similar population
• Experience leading a Counselor-In-Training program or out-of-school programs involving youth leadership.
• Current certification in first aid and CPR
• Master’s Degree in Education is a plus

Essential Job Functions

• Deliver a progressive Counselor-In-Training program
• Ensure lesson plans are prepared and implemented that meet camp outcomes and the abilities of the campers according to the timetable.
• Observe and evaluate participants in terms of aptitude and skills required for eventual employment as camp staff.
• Deliver progressive program activities.
• Evaluate the success of the program and modify curricula if necessary.
• Coordinate all relevant activities with other staff.
• Submit program supply requests to Assistant Camp Director at least one session in advance.
• Manage STEP Program budget with the Camp Director
• Works with the Education Specialist to ensure education standards are implemented
