LO Seattle | Wallace Falls State Park

Join us for a fun day of hiking Wallace Falls State Park on Sunday, May 19th! Get ready to explore nature, hike beautiful trails, and enjoy breakfast tacos with fellow outdoor enthusiasts. This is the perfect opportunity to explore the great outdoors and meet your community.

We will meet at the Trailhead at 9:00 am and highly encourage car pooling.

The popular 2.8-mile hike up to the top of Wallace Falls is doable for most skill levels, and viewpoints located at the lower, middle and upper falls let you decide how long you want your hike to be. The middle viewpoint gives you the most panaromic views of the Skykomish River Valley and Olympic Mountains.

Don’t forget to bring a warm jacket, layers, a raincoat/rainpants, plenty of water, snacks, hiking poles if needed, and closed toe shoes. Dogs are allowed on leash.

Things to consider:

  • This is rated as a moderate hike.
  • Elevation: 1,300 feet
  • Mileage: 5.6 miles, roundtrip
  • Parking pass: Discover Pass

Additional information:

Getting There

Proceeding from Everett on Hwy 2, approach the city of Gold Bar. Turn left onto 1st Street, then drive .4 miles and take a right onto May Creek Rd (there will be Wallace Falls signage for both turns).

Snake your way up May Creek Rd for 1.3 miles until you reach a Y-junction. Right will take you into Camp Huston, so proceed left and drive up a short path into the Wallace Falls State Park parking lot. The lot is spacious, but can easily fill up on the weekends as the park is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. Washington State Parks has a live camera on the parking lot.
