👻🎃 Join Latino Outdoors for a Spooktacular Running Event! 🕸️🏃‍♂️

Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting out, all experiences are not only welcome but encouraged for this inclusive gathering. We’ll be haunting the trail at different paces to accommodate runners and hikers of all levels. No one gets left behind in this spooky crew – we guarantee it! 🧛‍♂️💀

In addition to the chilling run/hike, we’ll cover essential running basics, share do’s and don’ts, discuss how to dress for weather conditions 🌧️☀️ (because you never know what the spirits might bring 👻), and explore other best practices to enhance your overall running experience. It’s more than just a run – it’s a ghoulish celebration of community, wellness, and a bewitching journey ahead! 🧙‍♀️ Lace up your shoes and let’s make this an event you’ll never forget… if you dare! 🦇👟

What is Latino Outdoors? 🌍
Latino Outdoors is a national organization that connects Latinx communities with nature through outdoor recreation and conservation activities. We build a supportive community that fosters leadership, celebrates cultural heritage, and makes the outdoors accessible to everyone, no matter your experience level. 🌿✨

What is the 606? 🌳
The 606 is an urban trail in Chicago that’s been resurrected from an old rail line and transformed into a 2.7-mile park connecting four neighborhoods. Since its rebirth in 2015, it’s become a hub for fitness, community gatherings, and spooky outdoor adventures. 🌕🎃

📅 EVENT DAY:
We’ll begin promptly at 7:00 PM. The total time will be approximately 1.5 hours, with plenty of eerie breaks to mingle with your fellow ghouls. 🕷️👹

📍 LOCATION:
We’ll meet on the Ridgeway side of the 606 Trail (right behind the YMCA). Plenty of street parking is available, but no spots are guaranteed 🚗. Bathrooms are available on site 🚻, and the trail is ADA accessible ♿. The exact location will be emailed to those who register… if they survive the night! 😈

🏃‍♂️ DISTANCE:
5km (3.1 miles) – but beware of any creatures lurking in the shadows! 🧟‍♂️🏞️

☁️ WEATHER:
The event is rain or shine (unless thunder and lightning strike! ⚡️), so come prepared to face the elements, brave souls. 🌧️🌤️

👗 CLOTHING & VISIBILITY:
Wear comfortable clothing 👕 and, if you decide to dress up in costume 🎃, please make sure to have some kind of visibility piece on you (reflective gear, lights, etc.). While the 606 is a lit trail, it’s courteous to remain visible for others. Safety first – even in the dark! 🕯️✨

If you register, keep your eyes peeled for email updates 📧, and follow us on Instagram for day-of event details 👀! Questions? Reach out at greatlakes@latinooutdoors.org or on Instagram @LO_GREATLAKES.

Can’t wait to see y’all there… if you make it! 🎃💀
