Redwood Hike: Trillium Fall Trails, Redwoods National Park

Join EPIC for a Redwood hike through Trillium Falls Trail in Redwood National Park. The hike will explore the misty hallways of an ancient redwood home. The stunning old growth, vast creeks, and 10 ft waterfall make it the most popular and awe inspiring trail in Redwood National Park. 

This 3 mile loop is a well-maintained trail and designed to be accessible to almost anyone. This hike is rated moderate due to some switchbacks and change in elevation, so please come prepared with water and hiking shoes. Meet-up is at the EPIC office in Arcata, located at 145 G Street, Suite A, at 10 a.m. Space is limited, so PLEASE register.

All hikes in our series will be bilingual—providing interpretation in both English and Spanish.

Please wear appropriate clothing and foot ware, bring food, and water, and anything else you may need to be comfortable and safe in the forest. There is a strict NO DOGS rule in place for all our 2018 Redwood Hikes series, so please leave your companions at home.

Los impresionantes árboles primarios, arroyos y la cascada de 10 pies convierten este sendero el más popular e inspirante en Redwood National Park. 

Este sendero circular de 3 millas está bien mantenido y diseñado para ser accesible para casi cualquier persona. Esta caminata es clasificada moderada porque hay cambio de elevación. Outdoor Skills Training: Map Reading & Land Navigation

Join the Environmental Protection Information Center (EPIC) and Latino Outdoors for a series of seminars as well as hands-on activities designed to expose wilderness users to a wide variety of skills and knowledge, in particular, to those interested in leading groups for future EPIC and Latino Outdoors hikes

Learn basic navigation skills using a map and compass to find your way. Learn the parts of a compass, how to read a topographic map, and how to use them in tandem to lead and develop hiking routes.

Meet at the entrance of Arcata Community Forest at 10AM. Snacks will be provided. Bring a lunch, water, notepad, and appropriate hike wear.

Redwood Hike: Stout Grove, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park

Join EPIC for a Redwood hike through Stout Grove in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. This hike will meander through an enchanting forest landscape watched over by towering giants. The stunning old growth and pristine Smith River along the Stout Grove hiking trail makes it one of the most beautiful places on the North Coast. 

This .6 mile loop is well-maintained trail and designed to be accessible to almost anyone. Please come prepared with water and hiking shoes, as well as swimming gear so that you can fully enjoy the Wild and Scenic Smith River. Meet-up is at the EPIC office in Arcata, located at 145 G Street, Suite A, at 10 a.m. Space is limited, so PLEASE register.

All hikes in our series will be bilingual—providing interpretation in both English and Spanish.
